Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled VoIP Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our VoIP communications across locations. You will deploy, configure, and support the VoIP infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and strong call quality in a fully remote setting.

The role requires expertise in SIP/H.323, experience with platforms like Asterisk or Cisco CallManager, and a solid understanding of LAN/WAN, QoS, and firewall considerations for voice networks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a VoIP Administrator or Systems Administrator with a focus on voice communications.
• In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and related technologies.
• Experience with major VoIP platforms (e.g., Asterisk, Cisco CallManager, FreeSWITCH).
• Understanding of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, QoS, and firewalls, as they relate to VoIP.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for supporting end-users.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain VoIP platforms, including PBX systems, call managers, and related hardware/software.
• Configure user extensions, voicemail, call routing, and other voice services according to business requirements.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive maintenance to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related problems, including call quality issues, connectivity failures, and user support requests.
• Manage user provisioning and de-provisioning, ensuring timely access to communication services.
• Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
