Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their fully remote security operations center, supporting their presence in Paarl. The role focuses on monitoring security alerts, identifying threats, and coordinating incident response to protect the organization's digital infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in information security, familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security, plus strong investigative and written communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; Security+, CySA+ advantageous.
• 2–4 years of experience in information security, incident response, or SOC analysis.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM systems for potential threats and incidents.
• Analyze security alerts, investigate activities, determine scope & impact of events.
• Perform initial response actions, upscale incidents, track resolution progress.
• Contribute to incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Conduct threat hunting to identify potential breaches.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents and remediation actions.
