Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join a fully remote security operations team. You will monitor security systems, detect incidents, and implement proactive measures to protect digital assets and sensitive information.

The role supports operations in Polokwane and across the region. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in cybersecurity or related field, 3+ years in cybersecurity operations, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls to detect threats.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis and remediation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures and best practices.
• Stay updated with cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure deployment and operation of systems.
