Placements24 is recruiting a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst in Kimberley to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats across the organization. You will analyze security alerts, investigate incidents, and support continuous improvement of monitoring capabilities within a dynamic security team.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity/CS/IT or equivalent experience, plus 1–3 years in a SOC environment, with familiarity in SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• 1–3 years of SOC or related cybersecurity experience.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR for threats and anomalies.
• Analyze alerts and logs to identify incidents.
• Perform initial triage and containment of security events.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior analysts or IR teams.
• Contribute to detection rule and playbook development.
• Stay updated on threat landscapes and attack vectors.
