Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Network Security Analyst to strengthen cybersecurity defenses. This fully remote role allows you to support South Africa from your home office, monitoring traffic, analyzing threats, and strengthening protections across the organization’s networks.

You will monitor security events with SIEM, perform incident response and forensics, and collaborate with IT teams to embed secure practices in design and deployment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in network security or a related cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, common vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Proficient with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
• Experience in incident response and digital forensics.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CISSP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network activity for suspicious patterns and potential security breaches using SIEM and other security tools.
• Investigate security alerts, perform forensic analysis, and determine the scope and impact of incidents.
• Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and best practices in response to evolving threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of network design and deployment.
