Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join its Security Operations Center in Upington. You will monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and respond to incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools.

You should have a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of cybersecurity operations experience. A proactive defender mindset and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat analysis, or incident response.
• Proficiency with security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection solutions, for potential threats and anomalies.
• Investigate security alerts, analyze logs, and perform forensic analysis to determine the nature and scope of security incidents.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules and use cases to improve the effectiveness of security monitoring.
• Respond to security incidents, coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Stay current with the latest threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Participate in security awareness training and contribute to the development of security policies and procedures.
