Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic international construction consultancy. The role is fully remote within South Africa, handling cost management from estimates to final accounts on global projects.

You will oversee cost control, contract administration, and tender evaluation, collaborating with diverse teams to ensure financial success and on-time project delivery from a home office. Strong knowledge of JBCC/NEC/FIDIC is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• SACPVP or RICS registration is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong contract knowledge (JBCC, NEC, FIDIC) and cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
• Evaluate and negotiate tenders from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle within budget.
• Prepare interim and final payment certificates for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify valuations for payment applications.
• Provide expert advice on cost-saving measures and financial risk management.
