Job summary

Placements24 seeks a senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for large construction projects on a fully remote basis. You will prepare and negotiate tenders, monitor expenditures, and guide procurement decisions from your home office.

The role requires at least 8 years of experience, a degree in Quantity Surveying, and strong skills in cost control, risk analysis, and contract administration. Remote work enables flexible collaboration with the Pietermaritzburg region projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost management methods and contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate tenders and contracts for construction projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises to optimize project costs.
• Manage all project costs, including monitoring and reporting on expenditure, and issuing interim payment certificates.
• Oversee procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers and subcontractors, and managing their contracts.
• Identify, analyze, and report on project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual terms, legislation, and company policies.
