Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, BoQ preparation, tender evaluation and contract administration for South Africa-wide projects. This fully remote role requires a professional QS with strong client liaison capabilities to deliver accurate financial analyses and procurement guidance.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., BSc/BTech) required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor with pre- & post-contract focus.
• Experience in cost estimation,BoQ, tender evaluation.
• Knowledge of JBCC, NEC and FIDIC contract forms.
• Proficient in CostX, WinQS and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently from home with reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BoQ), and tender documents.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for potential projects.
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and report on financial performance.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations and claims management.
• Valuation of work in progress and preparation of interim payment certificates.
• Conduct post-contract cost control and final account settlement.
• Provide expert advice on procurement routes and contract strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors through effective remote communication.
