Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a remote role in South Africa. You will oversee all cost aspects of construction projects from budgeting to final accounts, ensuring projects stay within budget while maintaining precise financial records.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in cost management for major projects, strong contract knowledge (FIDIC/JBCC), and proficiency with cost-estimation software. Remote work tools and collaboration are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC, JBCC) and procurement methods.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and standard office suites.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets from tender to completion.
• Manage tendering process: documents, bid evaluation, subcontractor contracts.
• Monitor and control expenditures; report deviations from budget.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow projections and final accounts.
• Conduct site verifications remotely or via local representatives to assess cost impacts.
• Manage variations and claims; ensure fair valuations and settlements.
• Advise on procurement strategy and contract administration.
• Mitigate financial risks across projects.
• Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers and clients.
• Maintain accurate cost records and documentation.
