Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a remote-first role serving projects across South Africa, with emphasis on Durban and KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead cost management from estimates to final accounts, ensuring financial control and adherence to contracts.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, 7+ years' experience, and proficiency in CostX/Candy and MS Office. Strong communication and remote collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
• Registered with SACPVP or SACQSP is highly desirable.
• 7+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably on KwaZulu-Natal projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents.
• Manage procurement processes, including tender evaluation and subcontractor appointments.
• Administer contracts, variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Monitor expenditure and provide cost reports to senior management and clients.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and advise on procurement strategies.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks on construction projects.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for cost-effective outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contracts and legislation.
• Provide expert cost management and contract administration to project teams.
