Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Quantity Surveyor for a global construction client. You will manage all cost aspects from initial estimates to final accounts, ensuring projects stay within budget and deliver value across building and civil works.

You will prepare tender documents, administer contracts (JBCC, NEC), track costs, handle variations and claims, and advise on procurement strategies. Strong remote communication and self-management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 5 years as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Accreditation such as SACQSP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of JBCC/NEC contracts.
• Proficient in cost estimating software and MS Excel.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with BIM is a plus.
• Reliable internet and suitable remote workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
• Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor project costs, track expenditures and manage variations and claims.
• Prepare and submit interim and final payment valuations and certificates.
• Advise on procurement strategies and risk management for cost control.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders on cost-related matters.
• Conduct cost audits and value engineering to optimize project expenses.
• Maintain accurate cost records and financial reports for project lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of market trends, material costs, and construction technologies to inform estimates.
