Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Remote Process Safety Engineer to lead safety initiatives across operations, with a focus on sites near Paarl. This role operates remotely, developing and overseeing PSM systems and risk assessments while influencing safety culture across dispersed teams.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in process safety in chemical/manufacturing sectors, strong PHA/LOPA knowledge, and hands-on experience with PSI management and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related safety field.
• 8+ years in process safety engineering in chemical/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PHA, LOPA and risk assessment techniques.
• Experience with process safety information management systems.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Understanding regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement PSM programs and protocols.
• Conduct PHAs, HAZOPs and risk assessments.
• Develop and review safety-critical procedures (MOC and PSSRs).
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses; determine root causes.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety.
• Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards.
