Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Process Safety Engineer to join its global operations team. This fully remote role focuses on safety across chemical processing facilities worldwide, developing PSM systems, conducting PHAs, and fostering a proactive safety culture.

You will review designs, deliver training, and ensure compliance with international standards, contributing to a zero-incident philosophy and enabling flexible, global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years in process safety engineering, preferably chemical/petrochemical.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements (MOC, PSSR, PHA, incident investigation).
• Familiar with risk assessment methodologies and safety software tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex technical information.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and policies.
• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA studies.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to site personnel and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
• Review engineering designs and modifications for process safety implications before implementation.
