Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to join its remote-first operations team in South Africa. You will lead efficiency and cost-improvement initiatives across processes using lean, Six Sigma, and simulation tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams from anywhere in SA.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial engineering or related analysis, strong data-driven decision-making, and expertise with Arena/AnyLogic and Minitab/R.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering or similar operations analysis.
• Proven track record in process improvement, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
• Proficiency with Arena or AnyLogic and statistics tools such as Minitab or R.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic operational improvement initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth process analysis, identify bottlenecks, and propose data-backed solutions.
• Utilize simulation software to model operational scenarios, evaluate changes, and predict outcomes.
• Design and optimize workflows, layouts, and production systems.
• Collaborate with remote teams to align on project goals and ensure execution.
• Create reports and dashboards to communicate findings and performance metrics.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge base.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
