Placements24 is seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer to serve as an Operations Specialist. This remote role focuses on optimizing workflows across South Africa, particularly the Benoni region.

You will analyze processes, apply Lean and Six Sigma methods, and implement improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong data analytics, and proficiency with ERP/MES systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, focusing on operations and process improvement.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles in practice.
• Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and simulation software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing operational processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
• Use data analytics to measure process performance and identify drivers of variability and waste.
• Design new workflows, systems, and layouts to boost efficiency and productivity.
• Prepare process documentation, flowcharts, and SOPs.
• Collaborate remotely with stakeholders to gather information and drive adoption of changes.
• Support implementation of new technologies and automation in operations.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
• Monitor long-term effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends in industrial engineering and operations management.
