Placements24 is seeking a Senior Community Support Specialist to join a fully remote South African team. You will develop and oversee community outreach programs, provide case management, and collaborate with NGOs and government bodies to coordinate services across the country.

The role requires a relevant bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in social work or community development, and strong advocacy, ethics, and remote-work capabilities. Master’s is advantageous and a dedicated workspace is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in community development, social work, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in case management software and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
• Registration with a relevant professional body is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative community support programs tailored to the needs of diverse client groups.
• Provide direct support, guidance, and case management to individuals facing social or personal challenges.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized support plans.
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on empowerment, skill-building, and well-being.
• Collaborate with external agencies, NGOs, and governmental bodies to coordinate services and resources.
• Mentor and guide junior support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
• Monitor program effectiveness and impact, collecting data for reporting and continuous improvement.
• Advocate for client needs within various systems and services.
• Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in community and social care.
