About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation in social welfare and community development, is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Senior Community Support Specialist to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing advanced support, guidance, and resources to individuals and families facing various social challenges. This role demands a deep understanding of community dynamics, robust problem-solving skills, and an unwavering commitment to client well-being. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing effective support strategies, acting as a key liaison between clients and essential services, and contributing to the overall enhancement of community resilience. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, developing tailored support plans.
• Provide direct case management services, including crisis intervention and emotional support.
• Facilitate access to community resources, such as housing, employment, healthcare, and legal aid.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations and service providers.
• Mentor and guide junior support staff, providing training and supervision.
• Monitor client progress, regularly reviewing and adjusting support plans as necessary.
• Prepare detailed reports on client cases, program outcomes, and identified community needs.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their rights and needs are met.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and strategic planning.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new community outreach programs.

Requirements

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in community support, social work, or case management.
• Proven experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent understanding of social welfare systems and available community resources in Gauteng.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

• A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle is advantageous, though not essential for a fully remote role.
