Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing advanced electrical infrastructure for international renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities include grid interconnection, load flow and stability analyses, and developing detailed technical specifications, while ensuring compliance with international standards and collaborating with global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical power system design and analysis.
• Expertise in generation, transmission, and distribution within power systems.
• Experience with renewable energy integration and grid interconnection challenges.
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSS/E, CYME or similar software.
• Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, protection, and control logic.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design large-scale electrical power systems for renewable energy projects.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability analyses.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Conduct technical reviews of designs, supplier proposals, and construction plans.
• Develop testing and commissioning procedures for power systems.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, and NERC standards.
• Provide technical support throughout project lifecycle from feasibility to handover.
• Stay current with power system tech and grid modernization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design tools and methods.
