Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join its HR and Finance support team in a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will manage full-cycle payroll, ensure compliance with PAYE/UIF/SDL, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of payroll experience, proficiency with VIP Payroll, Sage VIP, and PaySpace, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with VIP Payroll, Sage VIP, and PaySpace.
• Understanding of South African payroll regulations (PAYE, UIF, SDL) and labor laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Remote work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.
• Calculate wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits accurately.
• Maintain employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes).
• Process payroll adjustments, manual checks, and off-cycle payments.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports with government agencies.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and benefits questions.
• Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and integration.
• Stay updated on payroll best practices and regulatory changes.
