Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Payroll Accountant for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will manage end-to-end payroll, ensure compliance with SA tax and legislative requirements, and protect confidentiality across payroll data.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in payroll processing, proficiency with VIP Payroll or Sage, strong Excel skills, and the ability to meet deadlines independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of direct experience in payroll processing and administration.
• Proficiency with payroll software (VIP Payroll, Sage) and strong Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll runs for all employees, including salaries, bonuses and deductions.
• Manage employee data: new hires, terminations and changes in compensation or status in the payroll system.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements: PAYE, UIF, SDL submissions.
