Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Remote Payroll Administrator to manage payroll processing from a home-based setup. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll for all employees, maintain payroll records, and ensure compliance with South African labor and tax laws.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of payroll experience and proficiency with VIP Payroll, Sage VIP or PaySpace, plus advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate with emphasis on mathematics or accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years payroll administration experience.
• Proficiency with VIP Payroll, Sage VIP, PaySpace and advanced Excel.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll regulations and tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on a regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations and company policies.
• Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay or deductions.
• Calculate and process statutory deductions (UIF, PAYE, SDL).
• Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and authorities.
• Handle employee payroll queries; resolve issues related to deductions and net pay.
• Process adjustments, reimbursements, and payroll-related transactions.
• Conduct regular payroll audits for accuracy and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR and finance to ensure data integrity.
• Stay updated with payroll legislation and best practices.
