Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for a fully remote role. You will oversee payroll processing across weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SA legislation.

You will manage employee data, handle deductions, and prepare reports for SARS and management while maintaining strict confidentiality. Remote collaboration with HR and finance is essential, and experience with VIP Payroll or Sage VIP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll administration experience in SA.
• Proficiency with VIP Payroll or Sage VIP and MS Excel.
• Thorough knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with accuracy.
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll accurately.
• Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, UIF and SA tax rules.
• Manage employee data including new hires, terminations and changes.
• Calculate deductions such as taxes, UIF, and garnishments.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports to SARS and management.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Administer benefits like medical aid and retirement contributions.
• Respond to payroll inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.
• Stay updated on legislation and payroll best practices.
