Placements24 is pleased to offer a fully remote Apprentice IT Support Specialist position, based out of Tembisa, Gauteng. You will provide essential technical support to internal users and customers, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues remotely while building a career in IT.

This apprenticeship emphasizes hands-on learning, remote collaboration, and the opportunity to gain industry-recognized certifications.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for IT and foundational understanding of computer systems.
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, preferably with technical coursework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective remote interaction.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to users via remote channels (phone, email, chat).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
• Assist users with account management and access permissions.
• Document technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff when necessary.
