Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled IT Helpdesk Technician to join their fully remote support team. You will provide first-line technical assistance to users via phone, email, and remote tools, and maintain IT systems from a home office.

The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, Windows/macOS knowledge, and cloud platforms like Office 365. You will document issues, contribute to knowledge bases, and escalate complex problems to senior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an IT Helpdesk Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Experience with remote support tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk) and common network protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting; reliable home office setup.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are advantageous.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Office 365, Google Workspace) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical assistance to users via phone, email, and remote access tools.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
• Document all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Create and maintain IT knowledge base articles and user guides.
• Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software.
• Monitor IT systems for performance and potential issues.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff or specialized teams.
• Provide guidance and training to users on IT best practices.
