Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Technical Helpdesk Specialist to join a fully remote tech firm serving clients nationwide, including Polokwane, Limpopo. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of IT issues for internal users and external customers in a remote-first environment.

The role requires strong Windows/macOS knowledge, network troubleshooting, experience with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems like Jira Service Desk or Zendesk, and good communication.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in technical helpdesk or IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS.
• Experience with VPN, TCP/IP, and wireless networks.
• Familiar with Jira Service Desk or Zendesk.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote IT support for hardware, software, and networks.
• Diagnose and resolve user-reported issues via phone, email, or chat.
• Install, configure, and upgrade software and operating systems.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and network problems.
• Document solutions and create user guides.
• Escalate complex issues when needed.
• Maintain IT inventory and asset tracking.
• Ensure security policies are followed and monitor system performance.
