Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Remote Technical Support Specialist to join a fully remote IT services team. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for clients across industries.
You will use remote tools, document steps, and escalate when needed. Strong problem-solving, clear communication, and reliable home setup are essential. Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus.
A quiet, dedicated home office and high-speed internet are mandatory.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in IT support, helpdesk, or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, OS (Windows/macOS/Linux) and common software.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and remote troubleshooting tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to end-users experiencing hardware, software, or network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems using remote access tools and diagnostic software.
- Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
- Document support activities, steps taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Escalate unresolved issues per defined procedures and assist junior staff as needed.
- Communicate clearly with users and provide basic IT guidance and best practices.
