Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Helpdesk Support Officer to join their fully remote team serving clients remotely with a base near Paarl. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, delivering timely and effective solutions and maintaining support documentation.

Based remotely, you will manage tickets via phone, email, and remote access, escalate complex problems, and contribute to a collaborative culture focused on efficiency and excellent remote service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a helpdesk or IT support role, preferably in a remote setting.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, common applications, and basic networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for remote user interaction.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote-only environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting for users via phone, email, and remote access tools.
• Log, track, and manage all helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction.
• Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and network issues.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior IT personnel or specialized teams.
• Maintain and update IT documentation and user guides for remote support.
