Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote IT Support & Installation Specialist to join their expanding technical support team. You will be the first point of contact for clients, diagnosing hardware, software, and network issues while guiding them through installations from a home office.

Based in Gauteng, you will handle remote support for clients across the region, maintain accurate ticket records, perform system maintenance, and contribute to knowledge base articles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support, help desk operations, or a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
• Familiarity with remote support tools and technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Understanding of basic networking principles is beneficial for this role in Installation & Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Guide users through the installation and configuration of various software applications and operating systems.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of support interactions, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Perform remote system maintenance, updates, and security checks to ensure system integrity.
• Develop and update knowledge base articles and FAQs to assist users and fellow support staff.
