Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Compliance Officer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will ensure adherence to FAIS, FIC Act, Companies Act, and other regulatory requirements while guiding management on risk and compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in compliance, internal audit, or a legal role within insurance/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of South African insurance regulations (FAIS, FIC Act, Companies Act).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company's compliance program in line with insurance regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organization.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance.
• Deliver compliance training programs to employees.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by governing bodies.
• Advise management on compliance best practices and emerging regulatory risks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including FAIS, POCA, FICA, and specific insurance laws.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are compliant with current regulations.
