Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Compliance Officer for a fully remote role. You will develop and monitor compliance programs, conduct internal audits, and advise on regulatory matters within the South African insurance landscape from home.

Candidates should have 5+ years in compliance or audit, with strong knowledge of FAIS, FICA and ICOFI. The role emphasizes independence, remote work discipline, and high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in compliance, legal, or audit, preferably in insurance.
• Strong knowledge of SA insurance laws and regulatory frameworks (FAIS, FICA, ICOFI).
• Ability to design and implement effective compliance programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance program.
• Monitor adherence to laws, regulations and codes of conduct.
• Conduct internal audits and reviews to identify issues and gaps.
• Investigate compliance concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Deliver training programs on compliance to staff at all levels.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting insurance industry.
• Advise management on risks and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities.
• Manage relationships with regulators and external auditors.
