Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly capable Senior Compliance Officer to join a fully remote team in South Africa. You will design and manage compliance programs, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and ensure strict adherence to FAIS, FICA, and POPIA within a financial services context.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years' experience in compliance or related fields, strong policy development skills, and the ability to work independently from a home office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in compliance, legal, or audit in financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of SA regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Experience in risk assessment, policy development, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently in remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to financial regulations.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits across all business operations.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and regulatory changes.
• Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes and advise on necessary policy updates.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required by authorities.
