Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Insurance Compliance Officer to join its nationwide legal and compliance team in South Africa. The role is fully remote and requires deep knowledge of SA insurance regulations to develop, implement, and monitor compliant programs.

Qualifications

• Law degree or equivalent qualification in Legal, Compliance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance, risk management, or legal experience in insurance/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of South African insurance laws and regulations (e.g., FAIS, FICA, ICOBS).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with South African insurance regulations.
• Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to ensure adherence to compliance standards across units.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory guidance, advising stakeholders on adjustments.
• Investigate compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external legal counsel as required.
