Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a versatile Remote HR Generalist to support a distributed team from anywhere in South Africa. The role requires a proactive approach to HR operations, from recruitment and onboarding to payroll support and policy implementation.

You will maintain accurate employee records, assist in performance management, ensure compliance with SA labour laws, and contribute to HR initiatives while thriving in a remote or hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial Psychology or related field.
• 3–5 years' experience as an HR Generalist.
• Solid understanding of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits.
• Knowledge of South African labour law is essential.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding for new hires.
• Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
• Support performance management processes and development planning.
• Assist with payroll administration and benefits programs.
• Contribute to development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Manage employee grievances and conduct preliminary investigations.
• Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
