Placements24 is searching for a Senior HR Generalist to support a fully remote workforce across South Africa. The role covers employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and compliance, with responsibility for the entire employee lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has at least six years of HR Generalist experience, strong SA labor law knowledge, and proven ability to work effectively in a remote team. A professional, discreet approach and proficiency with HRIS are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in a broad HR generalist role.
• Proven experience in remote or distributed teams.
• Strong knowledge of South African labor law and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on HR issues including policy interpretation and employee relations.
• Manage employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
• Administer compensation and benefits programs with compliance.
• Develop and update HR policies to align with goals and laws.
• Conduct HR investigations and document findings.
• Support talent management, succession planning, and career development.
• Help develop and deliver HR training for staff and managers.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS.
• Ensure compliance with South Africa labor laws and regulations.
• Contribute to HR projects to improve engagement and effectiveness.
