Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an HR Generalist specializing in Employee Relations to join a forward-thinking technology firm in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will handle employee relations matters, investigations, guidance on policy, and compliance with labor law.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, at least four years in HR with a focus on employee relations, strong mediation and communication skills, and proficiency with HRIS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, Law or related field.
• Minimum 4 years HR experience with strong focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law, especially on discipline, grievances and dismissals.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and mediations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters.
• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
• Develop strategies to improve employee engagement and reduce workplace conflict.
• Advise on performance management issues and assist managers with performance improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with South African labor legislation.
• Assist with policy development and review related to employee conduct and relations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases.
• Collaborate with other HR functions to take a holistic approach to employee support.
