Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote HR Generalist focused on Employee Relations to join our growing team. This fully remote role supports our SA operations, including governance of ER issues, policy application, and disciplinary matters with discretion.

You will advise management, conduct investigations, and train managers on ER best practices, while maintaining confidential records and ensuring compliance with South African labor laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, Law or related field.
• 5–7 years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations.
• Strong knowledge of South African labor law and ER principles.
• Experience conducting investigations, mediations, and disciplinary hearings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct investigations into employee complaints and misconduct, ensuring fairness and adherence to procedures.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to management and employees on employee relations best practices.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the organization.
• Interpret and apply South African labor laws, including the Labour Relations Act (LRA).
• Develop and deliver training to managers and employees on employee relations topics.
• Assist in development and refinement of HR policies to ensure compliance and best practice.
• Facilitate constructive communication between employees and management.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations matters.
• Contribute to the overall HR strategy with a focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment.
