Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an HR Specialist with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations to join a remote team in South Africa. The role focuses on resolving grievances, policy interpretation, and ensuring compliance with BCEA and LRA while upholding ethical HR practices.

You will work with employees and managers to promote a fair, respectful workplace and manage investigations with discretion in a fully remote setting, contributing to a compliant and harmonious organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, Law or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in HR with a focus on Employee Relations.
• Deep knowledge of South African labor law and industrial relations practices.
• Proven experience conducting workplace investigations and disciplinary processes.
• Strong HR best-practice knowledge and ethical conduct.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and mediation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve employee grievances and disputes impartially.
• Guide managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws (BCEA, LRA) and company policies.
• Develop and deliver training on ER topics (conflict resolution, discipline).
• Conduct workplace investigations related to harassment and discrimination.
• Advise on disciplinary actions with fairness and consistency.
• Contribute to HR policy development and refinement.
• Maintain confidential ER records and mitigate risks.
• Promote a positive, productive work environment through effective communication.
