Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Systems Designer to join a fully remote team serving the renewable energy sector. You will design and optimize electrical systems for energy storage, microgrids, and smart grid applications, specifying components and creating detailed schematics while meeting codes and standards.

The role requires a strong background in power systems design, familiarity with energy storage technologies, and solid CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical system design with power focus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, battery tech, and grid-tied systems.
• Familiarity with IEC/NEC codes and safety standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote work.
• Ability to work autonomously on multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts for energy storage systems and microgrids.
• Specify components such as inverters, batteries, switchgear, and protection devices.
• Perform load calculations, distribution analysis, and short-circuit studies.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, NEC, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate controls and monitoring.
• Create and maintain BOMs and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot design issues and support manufacturing and commissioning.
• Research new components and technologies to improve performance.
• Contribute to design standards and best practices development.
• Work remotely and manage timelines effectively.
