Placements24 is seeking a Remote Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for solar and other renewable energy installations. You will create schematics, select components, and ensure designs meet IEC/SANS/NEC standards while working with a distributed team.

This remote role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in renewable energy design, and proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPLAN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design with renewable energy focus.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software: AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN.
• Familiarity with IEC, SANS, NEC codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Design electrical systems for solar PV and renewable projects, including architecture and layout.
• Produce detailed drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring schedules.
• Perform voltage drop, fault current, and load calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and client requirements.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, construction teams, and engineers.
• Prepare BOMs, specifications, and design reports.
• Troubleshoot design issues during installation or commissioning.
• Research new components and tools to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry trends and participate in virtual design reviews.
