Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for large-scale renewable energy projects. This fully remote role requires expertise in power systems, equipment specification, and compliance with industry standards, enabling global project delivery from home offices.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in electrical design for solar/wind, proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, PVSyst, ETAP, and Helioscope, and strong communication for remote collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in electrical design with renewable energy focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for renewable energy projects (single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts).
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and grounding design.
• Select and specify electrical equipment for utility-scale projects (transformers, switchgear, inverters, cabling).
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, NEC and other standards.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers for integrated solutions.
• Prepare BOMs and design documentation for procurement and construction.
• Provide technical support during bidding, construction, and commissioning stages.
• Review designs by junior engineers and external consultants.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in renewable energy electrical design.
