Placements24 is seeking a Remote Electrical Systems Integration Specialist for a global renewables leader. Design, develop, and implement integrated electrical systems for solar PV and energy storage projects worldwide, while working remotely from South Africa.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years in electrical design, strong system integration skills, and experience with CAD tools and power electronics.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical system design, focusing on power, renewables, or energy storage.
• Experience with system integration of electrical components and control systems.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software: AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, grid-tied systems, and storage technologies.
• Familiarity with IEC, NEC, and SA standards relevant to renewable projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Experience with PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop integrated electrical systems for large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Specify components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, DC/DC converters, and BMS.
• Perform detailed electrical design calculations, including load, voltage drop, fault current, and grounding studies.
• Create schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using advanced CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, NEC and local SA standards.
• Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams including PMs, software, mechanical engineers, and site crews.
• Provide remote technical support during procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Develop and refine system integration strategies to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct remote design reviews and risk assessments to identify issues and propose mitigations.
• Contribute to documentation standards and process improvements.
