Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer to join a remote-first team focused on Financial Services Regulation. You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, assess regulatory changes, and advise management on risk and controls across SA operations including Soweto.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in compliance within financial services, with deep knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA and CISCA. ICA or CCEP certification is advantageous for career progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience in financial services regulation in South Africa.
• Deep knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and CISCA.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong risk management understanding and ability to implement controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures for the financial services sector.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's operations.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and internal audits.
• Advise senior management on compliance matters and best practices.
• Manage regulatory reporting requirements and submissions to relevant authorities.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs to staff.
• Oversee AML and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Maintain comprehensive compliance records and documentation.
