Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Compliance Officer for a fully remote role in the Banking & Finance sector. Based in Gauteng, the role focuses on developing and managing robust compliance programs, conducting internal audits, and guiding regulatory strategies across the organization.

You will lead a team of compliance professionals, stay current with FAIS, FICA, POPIA and related regulations, and drive the adoption of new compliance technologies to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCEP, CRCM) preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related role in financial services.
• Proven leadership experience managing a compliance team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
• Lead and manage a team of compliance professionals and drive growth.
• Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to identify gaps.
• Oversee investigations of potential breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure reporting to regulators and senior management is timely and accurate.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs across the organization.
• Stay updated on laws and industry best practices.
