Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for a fully remote role in South Africa. The incumbent will ensure adherence to FICA, POPIA, and Companies Act, develop robust compliance programs, and mitigate regulatory risks.

The role requires 6+ years in financial compliance, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication. Remote-first work environment offers flexibility and autonomy while maintaining regulatory integrity within the banking and finance sector.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in financial compliance or regulatory affairs.
• In-depth knowledge of SA financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and conducting risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance policies and controls aligned with SA regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adjust compliance programs accordingly.
• Conduct internal audits and reviews for adherence to requirements.
• Provide expert compliance guidance and training to business units and employees.
• Investigate potential breaches, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage regulatory interactions and facilitate examinations and inquiries.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and authorities.
