Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Compliance Officer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. The successful candidate will monitor regulatory changes, implement compliance programs, and conduct investigations within the Banking & Finance sector.

The ideal candidate has a law, finance or related degree and at least four years of compliance experience, with strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills to support management and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as specified.
• Minimum 4 years in compliance or regulatory affairs within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of SA financial regulations (FICA, POPIA, AML/CFT).
• Experience developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and implement changes in relevant financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, AML/CFT).
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance program and policies.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training to employees.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
• Advise management on compliance-related matters and potential risks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting the Banking & Finance industry.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies.
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all compliance-related information.
