Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a cutting-edge automotive technology firm in Cape Town to recruit a remote Automotive Software Engineer. You will design, develop, and deploy software for embedded systems, ADAS, infotainment, and vehicle connectivity within a globally distributed team.

Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java; experience with CAN/LIN/Ethernet; and familiarity with AUTOSAR, MISRA C, Git, and CI/CD are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven software development experience in embedded systems or automotive software.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR and MISRA C; version control (Git) and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software for automotive applications including embedded systems and cloud services.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams in a fully remote setting.
• Write clean, well-documented code in C++, Python, or Java.
• Develop software for ADAS features, infotainment, or vehicle connectivity.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile processes.
• Troubleshoot defects and contribute to process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to automotive safety standards and quality requirements.
• Define software requirements and specifications with the team.
• Maintain effective communication through remote tools and platforms.
