Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Software Development Engineer for a remote role in Gauteng. You will design, develop and test embedded software for automotive ECUs and infotainment using C/C++, Python, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and RTOS, in a remote-first setting from Tembisa.

You will collaborate with hardware teams, implement algorithms for ADAS and diagnostics, and contribute to CI/CD, testing, and software quality. This is a growth-focused, fully remote opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in software development with embedded systems and automotive apps.
• Strong C/C++ skills and Python scripting experience.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, RTOS, and embedded toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy embedded software for automotive control units and infotainment.
• Write clean, efficient code in C, C++, and Python.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define requirements and architecture.
• Implement and optimise algorithms for ADAS, connectivity, and diagnostics.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and software quality with tests.
• Debug and resolve complex issues in simulated and real automotive environments.
