Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Automotive Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software for automotive ECUs and ADAS. This fully remote role lets you work from anywhere in South Africa, including Cape Town.

You will write efficient C/C++ code, work with CAN/LIN/Ethernet/UDS, RTOS, and modern tools such as Git and CI/CD. A degree in CS/EE and 5+ years in automotive embedded development are expected, with strong problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional embedded software experience in automotive.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems; experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive applications following coding standards and safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain software for ECUs, infotainment, ADAS, and vehicle components.
• Write efficient, robust C/C++ code for embedded systems; perform tests to ensure quality and safety.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and validation teams in a remote setting.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture and design.
