Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Software Architect for a leading automotive technology company. You will design and implement next-generation infotainment and autonomous driving software from anywhere in South Africa, collaborating with global engineers.
The role requires 8+ years in software development, 5+ in automotive architecture, and expertise in AUTOSAR, QNX, and Linux, plus C++, Java, Python.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/SE/EE or related field.
- 8+ years in software development; 5+ years in automotive software architecture.
- Experience designing embedded automotive systems (AUTOSAR, QNX, Linux).
- Strong SDLC and Agile experience.
Responsibilities
- Design high-level architectures for automotive embedded systems (infotainment, connectivity, autonomous driving).
- Develop and maintain software design patterns and coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into designs.
- Evaluate technologies and tools for development and integration.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and performance of software.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teams.
- Conduct code reviews and design walkthroughs.
- Contribute to SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Research emerging tech to identify innovations.
